Welcome to Arbela Township
Arbela Township (population 3219) is a rural residential and agricultural community located in
the southwest portion of Tuscola County. Founded on thousands of acres of timberland,
the area was settled by New Yorker Ebenezer Davis and lumberer Townsend
North. As the land was developed, much of the woodland was ravaged by fire in the
late 1800’s, which left a clearing of land for agriculture to expand. Agriculture continues to be a consistent part of our community.
